Mrs Green – Geography Subject Lead
Hello! My name is Mrs Green, and I’m proud to lead Geography at Eastburn. Geography is a fascinating subject that helps children explore the world around them—from our local environment to the farthest corners of the globe.
Our curriculum is carefully sequenced so that knowledge and skills build year on year. Children learn through hands-on fieldwork, local studies, and interactive activities that make geography engaging and memorable. We also connect learning to real-world issues such as sustainability, climate change, and the impact of human activity, so pupils understand why geography matters in their lives and futures.
Above all, our goal is to inspire curiosity and a lifelong fascination with the world and its people, while helping children develop critical thinking skills, a global perspective, and a sense of responsibility for the world around them.
Year 2 sharing the different places, in the different continents they've visited.
Year 2's class trip to Sutton-in-Craven. The children create a route using maps for our walk to Sutton-in-Craven, where they looked for human and physical features.
Class 2's India Day. Our non-European study of a village has been an India village called Chembakolli.
